There are only a handful of co-ed groups in the K-pop industry and none have been making bigger waves recently than K.A.R.D. The quartet came out with the track Oh NaNa in 2016 and officially debuted in 2017. Each member represents a letter in their group name, with their youngest, Jiwoo, representing the letter R and the black joker card.
Jiwoo has been catching my eye with every new comeback the group makes. As K.A.R.D’s main dancer, lead vocalist and rapper, she has the makings of one of my biases. Currently in Mnet’s new music reality show Good Girl, Jiwoo has really been fine-tuning not only her sound but her style as well.
It’s easy to spot Jiwoo’s preferred silhouette. She loves clean, figure-hugging designs oftentimes punctuated by bold prints. Lately, she’s been experimenting with fashion trends like shirred pieces. I’ve chosen an azure blue mini dress with shirred side seams that accentuate the tie-dye print. To offset all the bare skin, I’ve layered a sheer striped top with extra-long sleeves underneath the dress. Its white color connects with the tie-dye print of the dress while the striped design subtly adds texture to the outfit.
Always functional, Jiwoo is often seen carrying large tote bags. I’ve chosen an oversized bag in a natural, unbleached canvas with contrasting faux leather handles, because the singer loves neutral tones. Plus, it matches her two-toned tresses!
I’ve also styled her with black pleather heels to match the pleather details of the bag! Besides frequently wearing towering heels on stage, Jiwoo often opts for heels on her days off as well. The added support of the chunky heels and Mary Jane straps lend enough comfort for everyday wear.
As much as K-pop idols love accessories, I think Jiwoo takes it to another level! Her love for oversized earrings is fun and niche, and I AM HERE FOR IT. Since the rest of the outfit has a clean silhouette, over-accessorizing is a great styling choice. Rhinestone-encrusted dangling chain earrings with star charms decorate one lobe while the other ear features faux pearls and rhinestones. For a unique touch, I’ve added stud earrings that are connected with a delicate, extra-long curb chain.
For necklaces, I’ve layered choker-style pieces with a necklace featuring an embossed card deck pendant (because she’s a member of K.A.R.D, duh). I’m not done yet! For rings, I’ve chosen a faux-pearl open ring and a rhinestone ring-and-bracelet combo to match her earrings. A set of chain bracelets to match her choker necklace finishes off the outfit.
